1. What are you doing now?
I finished school in October 2022. I am now working full time as a software engineer/consultant for a technology company in downtown Toronto.
2. What are your top athletic achievements?
Receiving a scholarship to play for Mount Allison University, and ranking top 15 in Points per Game in the league (ACAA).
3. What are your top academic/professional achievements?
I was an Academic All-Canadian for every year I spent at Mount Allison University (2020-2022).
4. What are your favourite basketball memories/experiences?
I was able to travel North America by playing for high-level AAU teams and visiting 10+ universities before choosing to play for Mount Allison University.
5. What is your favourite memory from your time with Troyka?
I’ve had so many amazing memories playing for Troyka. Since the age of 8 playing in the house league and then the rep teams I’ve made memories I’ll cherish forever. My best friends to this day have mostly played for Troyka and I’ll always be grateful for the relationships I’ve built with the organizers, coaches, and parents as well.
6. How has Troyka contributed to your success?
Troyka gave me the opportunity to fall in love with Basketball while being surrounded by amazing coaches. I learned the importance of hard work and discipline which allowed me to become a successful student and the best Basketball player I could be. Without Basketball I wouldn’t have the friends I have today and I wouldn’t have had the amazing experiences that came from the sport. Troyka is what started it all for me, and I’ll always be grateful for that.
7. What do you think are the most important areas for young athletes to focus on?
School should always be the top priority for young athletes. The second priority is to train as hard as possible at Basketball or any other sport so that you learn what is required to achieve your potential. Committing to a sport at an early age will teach children the importance of discipline, teamwork, and physical health.
8. Any final thoughts you’d like to share with the next generations of Troyka athletes?
Troyka is an amazing Basketball community that is much more than just a club team. The parents, coaches and athletes all strive to make the experience as great as possible. You will be surrounded by people who care about you and wish you nothing but the best. I’d recommend to any parent that their child sign up to play for Troyka.
